This custom blended non-chemical fertilizer is designed to get nut trees off to a good start in sandy soils that are found in many upland areas on BC's coast.  These soils are usually on land that was originally forested and are generally acidic and low in organic matter.  Add a partially broken down organic matter source (such as composted manure or leaf mulch) with this fertilizer for best results, and/or mulch with some sort of organic matter to increase organic matter levels in the soil.  This fertilizer will provide an initial supply of N-P-K and micronutrients to make your trees happy.   If you have already balanced the pH of your soil (pH 6+) use our Nut Fertilizer for pH Neutral Soils.

By remineralizing the soil in which your young trees will grow you allow them to focus on creating a healthy root system and vigorous vegetative growth.  A well amended tree will produce nuts sooner and have less trouble with diseases and pests, leaving you happily harvesting instead of solving problems.
